During his years of self-imposed seclusion in Pondichery, Sri Aurobindo was engaged in tapasya whose results were to have far reaching consequences on humanity.
“Once more in the land of the saints and sages will burn up the fire of the ancient Yoga....” Here we have at once a prescience and a prophecy of the colossal work ... The integral Yoga was to transform human nature into Divine Nature and human life into Divine Life.

If you look from one plane of consciousness, the individual will appear to you as if he were not only an instrument and recorder, but a creator. But look from another and higher plane of consciousness with a wider view of things and you will see that this is only an appearance.
A wide massive opening, a harmonised concentration of the whole being in all its parts and through all its powers upon the One who is the All is the larger action of this Yoga without which it cannot achieve its purpose.
As Savitri says, with our present imperfect consciousness, immortality would be a hell, not a heaven. So first of all we need to realise the immortality of our soul. Once we have realised the immortality within, then we need to transform our body[...]
We can see how Sri Aurobindo is taking us step by step towards higher divine worlds and describing the life there. The union of Knowledge and Power is the characteristic of Supramental life. Beyond it are the worlds of Ananda. It is the original Delight that has gone into creation.
The moment has arrived and Satyavan falls while felling a tree. Death has arrived unceremoniously but Savitri still holds him close and would not let go of her clasp. Even death must hesitate and wait until she loosens her clasp around Satyavan.

Calm yet shall release thee; an immense peace

After death when the soul returns for a new birth, who moulds the mind, vital and physical?
It is done by Nature under the influence of the soul. In a certain sense it may be said that the soul does it, because what it sees as needed is drawn in as material and shaped.
