At the Feet of The Mother

War and Destruction are inevitable aspects of life as it is now constituted. Of course man should move beyond this towards an Age of Harmony and Peace. But this cannot happen by a wishful thinking or through government laws. Man must change radically for this miracle of collective existence.
Our human life could be lifted far above its present pitch and bring in some fresh air from diviner heights if matter could open to the Spirit’s influx. Matter must be prepared for the Divine Life to be established upon earth. Until then these greater possibilities of life will remain mere dreams.
A subtle sound like a peal of bells is heard constantly and loudly. What does it denote?

That is considered to be a sound closely connected with the sadhana.

Can the Divine withdraw from us?

That is an impossibility. Because if the Divine withdrew from a thing, immediately it would collapse, for it would not exist. To put it more clearly: The Divine is the only existence.
Thoughts and desires and impulses constantly enter into us from the Universal [...]. In order to be free from them we have ... only to keep our heart and soul always open to Thee in personal devotion, О Mother Divine.
Our whole being—soul, mind, sense, heart, will, life, body—must consecrate all its energies so entirely and in such a way that it shall become a fit vehicle for the Divine. This is no easy task...
His mind was made up. Bengal, he felt, had need of him. It was to be the field of his political work. His path lay clear before him — the path of the adoration of the Mother through suffering and sacrifice.
