Now life begins to stir and awaken and emerge from the depths of matter. Matter is filled with the dreams and impulsions of life. Life's first steps towards evolutionary journey are taken in ignorance.

Death is there to disillusion man from his quest for the Ideal. Therefore he starts his gospel mocking at man’s idea of God and Love which, according to him, are nothing but illusions painted by man's mind and desires.

Life has entered here from another plane of consciousness, another domain of existence and buried itself in matter as a seed. Slowly it begins to emerge under conditions of obscurity and darkness imposed by matter.

A heart of silence in the hands of joy

There was absolutely no talk, no sound. Neither the Mother nor Sri Aurobindo spoke a word, the atmosphere was charged with utter calmness and peace and bliss, perfect silence reigned throughout the function. Then after about half an hour or so, Sri Aurobindo and the Mother withdrew
To live in God and not in the ego [...] to feel God in all, oneself in all. [...] To act in God and not in the Ego.
Would you kindly define the nature of Ananda?
Ananda is a thing to be felt — it cannot be defined except negatively that it is not mere joy, but something much more deep and essential.
We are Thy own children, Mother, and the joys in the world, all the power and the light, belong to us as our true heritage. By recognising Thee to be our own, we shall make the whole world our own...
Man is torn between two very different forces so to say, one that prods and pushes him to advance and progress and another which pulls him to the inertia of his base. We see here the journey of human life being mapped out.

Nature, in her play of forces, has accepted the new Force which has manifested and included it in her movements. And as always, the movements of Nature are on a scale which is infinitely beyond the human scale and not visible to an ordinary human consciousness.
