After death people enter the vital world, but those who do good go to paradise?

Where is your paradise? Who has taught you that? They have spoken to you of heaven and hell and purgatory? It is generally what religious priests say to the faithful to encourage them to do good. For it is a notorious fact that life is not more easy for the good than for the wicked; usually it is the contrary: the wicked succeed better than the good!

Death takes the position of the stark materialist who refuses to see what escapes the senses. He admits only what he can outwardly experience through the senses and declares all else as an imagination or a hallucination. He refuses to admit the soul, taking it to be just a figment of mental conception.

There are two lines of evolution along which humanity can advance. One is the Asuric line which is primarily towards the capacities of his mental, vital and physical life. Another is the line of the Devas, the godlike climb of man which is a change of human into a diviner, nobler human being.
The West has put its faith in its science and machinery and it is being destroyed by its science and crushed under its mechanical burden. It has not understood that a spiritual change is necessary for the accomplishment of its ideals. The East has the secret of that spiritual change, but it has too long turned its eyes away from the earth. The time has now come to heal the division and to unite life and the spirit.

The psychic being comes with a definite purpose to go through a set of experiences and to learn and make progress. Then if you leave before its work is finished it will have to come back to do it again under much more difficult conditions.
Necessarily in the end prayer either ceases in the greater thing for which it prepared us, —in fact the form we call prayer is not itself essential so long as the faith, the will, the aspiration are there,—or remains only for the joy of the relation.
