At the Feet of The Mother

The Divine Reality Beyond the Void, pp. 555-556

Opening Remarks
Hidden within and beyond the Void, Savitri discovers the One Divine Reality.

Not an unreal Nought
But this was no more some vague ubiquitous point
Or a cipher of vastness in unreal Nought.

The Divine Reality hidden behind the Void was not some vague zero point or a vast blankness in some unreal Nothingnessness.

Living clasp of her soul
It was the same but now no more seemed far
To the living clasp of her recovered soul.

Though the same yet it did not feel far to her soul’s clasp that seemed to be drowned in the vast Impersonal Void.

Formlessness and form
It was her self, it was the self of all,
It was the reality of existing things,
It was the consciousness of all that lived
And felt and saw; it was Timelessness and Time,
It was the Bliss of formlessness and form.

This supreme Reality was experienced as her self as well as the self of all and the reality of existing things. It was the consciousness of all that existed. It was the single truth behind the Timelessness and Time. It was the Bliss of formlessness and form. It was sheer Existence, Consciousness and Bliss that Savitri experienced everywhere and in everything.

Peaks of God
It was all Love and the one Beloved’s arms,
It was sight and thought in one all-seeing Mind,
It was joy of Being on the peaks of God.

This Reality was all Love as well as the Beloved’s embrace. It was sight and thought in a single all-seeing Mind. It was the sheer joy of God in His very highest Being.

Beyond Time into eternity
She passed beyond Time into eternity,
Slipped out of space and became the Infinite;
Her being rose into unreachable heights
And found no end of its journey in the Self.

Thence Savitri passed beyond Time into eternity. She slipped out of space and became the Infinite. She rose into inaccessible heights of Consciousness and found no end of its journey in the Divine Self.

Unfathomable deeps
It plunged into the unfathomable deeps
And found no end to the silent mystery
That held all world within one lonely breast,
Yet harboured all creation’s multitudes.

She plunged into unfathomable deeps and found no end to the silent mystery. The whole world with all the multitudes of creation was within Its single breast.

Height beyond height
She was all vastness and one measureless point,
She was a height beyond heights, a depth beyond depths,
She lived in the everlasting and was all
That harbours death and bears the wheeling hours.

She was all vastness and one measureless point. She reached heights beyond heights, plunged into depths beyond depths. She lived in the everlasting that had become all transient things that are subject to death in terms of time.

All contraries
All contraries were true in one huge spirit
Surpassing measure, change and circumstance.

All contraries were true in a single vast spirit that was beyond measure, change and circumstance.

Creator and lord of all
An individual, one with cosmic self
In the heart of the Transcendent’s miracle
And the secret of World-personality
Was the creator and the lord of all.

She was at once an individual who was one with the cosmic self in the heart of the Transcendent. She was the secret of World-personality that one finds on the heights of Self where one becomes one with the creator and lord of all.

Mind was a single innumerable look
Mind was a single innumerable look
Upon himself and all that he became.

Her mind had become one with the Divine Mind that can see on every side innumerably upon Itself and all that It had become.

God its soul
Life was his drama and the Vast a stage,
The universe was his body, God its soul.

Life was seen as the grand drama of God with the vast space as stage. The universe was the body and God was the soul of this epic of life.

One single immense reality
All was one single immense reality,
All its innumerable phenomenon.

All was one single immense reality with its innumerable phenomenon.

Closing Remarks
Savitri experiences the Supreme Reality, a Being, Consciousness and Delight in the Void.
