If the Divine is there, then there must be a way of experiencing His existence, of meeting Him; however hard be the path, I have taken a firm resolution to tread it.

Most of the pieces in Bengali were written by Sri Aurobindo in 1909 and 1910 for Dharma, a Calcutta weekly he edited at that time; the material consists chiefly of brief political, social and cultural works. His reminiscences of detention in Alipore Jail for one year (“Tales of Prison Life”) are also included. There is also some correspondence with Bengali disciples living in his ashram.
You want to give me the charge of your yoga, and I am willing to accept it. But this means giving it to Him who, openly or secretly, is moving me and you by His divine power.

The white rose signifies loving surrender to the Mother.
Sitting calm and quiet remember the Mother and open yourself to her. This is the rule of meditation.
The centre of man's consciousness is in the heart and there is the seat of the psychic being.
When the consciousness becomes wide and universal and sees the Mother in the whole universe, then the ego does not stick.
If it happens that you go down at all, bring down there the Mother's light and power by your aspiration.
When the Mother fell asleep, who ever hoped
That even in the midst of blind darkness She will awake?
I know not
Where I had wandered about and then reached afar this dreamland:
In this vast Night, plunged in the contemplation of the supreme Void,
The dark Mother of the world in her ascetic mood lies in utter trance:
Titans, assembled here, the race supreme on this earthly globe!
A city supreme bejewelled in this sea-girt isle
In vain the human being dances about
With the short-lived couple, pain and happiness.
Death will come and stay the dance.
