Savitri 3: The Issue (TH 105)

This talks based on the Canto titled ‘The Issue’ from Sri Aurobindo’s epic poem Savitri. Here Sri Aurobindo has raised the question through Savitri whether destiny can be altered. The death of Satyavan is destined to Savitri. But she refuses to accept it blindly. She fights the inevitable with the strength of her soul. This is our India where we are taught that there is a power in us which is much more powerful than fate. The psychic being, the divine portion in man has that transforming power. But the path of discovering the self is not so easy. The forces of darkness are around to test ones sincerity. But God walks with us.
