The Mother’s physical presence had come to an end, but the foundation for a new creation has been laid and whosoever is today living on earth, participates in it, whether he knows it or not, whether he wants it or not.

Savitri enters the gates of subconscient world and steps into the Night. There is threat and dread everywhere in that state where space collapses and time dissolves. But Savitri stays firm within her soul.

The voice of Night drew a response from the heights. This greater voice cautions Savitri as also reveals to her the great secret that will enable her to conquer or rather be conquered entirely and utterly by the greater Truth Above.
You wrote about the lower forces: “In the working out sometimes they rise, sometimes they disappear.” Cannot the lower forces be worked out easily in their own field without their rising up and disturbing the whole being?
I am not aware of any case in which the lower forces did not rise up. If such a case occurred I fancy it would be the first in human history.

The Mother and Sri Aurobindo have given an entirely new sense to the yoga. Vast and complex in its all-inclusive totality, its process remains easy and simple. Today we shall take up one aspect of just one dimension of this yoga, the physical yoga.

Make of the heavens a splendour, the earth a blaze,
But the white and rose of the heart are dead.
Flame-wind, pass! I will wait for Love in the silent ways.
There is undoubtedly a Hindu upsurge in the country today. But whether we seize the tide at its flood and use it to bring about a spiritual renaissance or let it peter out into a mere religious revival – this will decide the future of this country. My aim in this paper is to see the whole phenomenon in a different light — the light of Sri Aurobindo.
Thus we see the broad foundation being laid for us to receive what is revealed to Aswapati, the seer and yogi. From the next Canto until the end of this Book we shall see and share Aswapati’s discoveries regarding these hidden worlds as they climb from Matter through worlds of life and mind towards the Supermind.
Now starts a long and arduous journey through the Night of Death where Savitri must bring Light. We see here the first steps of this journey that Savitri, the Divine Mother, has taken for humanity to intercede with Death on our behalf.

Before we venture to work upon the world, we have plenty of work and more to do within ourselves. It is by practising self-control under Thy guidance and help, Mother, that we learn how to conquer the world.
A mighty Force had descended on earth to help the Mother’s work. She said that all those who had been touched by it, would have a great certainty and precision in their thinking. Her message for 1969 was:
“No words – acts!”
I come to hear many things which disturb me. Should I resolutely avoid them?
Unless you wear cotton wool in your ears or shut yourself in a closed room, you can’t help hearing all sorts of things. You have not to be affected by them or think about them, that is all.

As Savitri sits in a felicitous state having discovered her secret soul, she hears the voice of Night. It paints a dismal picture of life and creation thereby discouraging any effort to make it beautiful and divine.
In an amazing passage that combines the intuitions of spiritual consciousness and the discoveries of modern Science, Sri Aurobindo reveals to us the process of creation, the weaving of five elements and the soul’s purpose of birth into this enigmatic world.
Even as Savitri is inwardly armed to take the challenge of Death, the being of Death pulls out the soul of Satyavan from his body.
