Here we explore the issue of earthly life, the problem and the solution to the enigma of existence.
The Incarnate Divine Mother reveals to Death who She is and asks him to step aside and free the soul of Earth from the iron grip of Ignorance. Death has played a role in creation but now the time has come for it to give way to a newer and higher evolutionary law.
The saying of the Gita is always true: better is the law of one’s own nature though ill-performed, dangerous is an alien law however speciously superior it may seem to our reason. But the law of nature of the ethical being is the pursuit of good; it can never be the pursuit of utility.
As with every other power, this realm too tries to understand the ways of God through its own limited abilities. Though it feels a distant glimpse and a call, it is still a realm of Ignorance and the veil is not yet lifted without which the real sense is lost.
Is the whole of the inner being made up of sheaths only?
Yes. Sheaths is simply a term for bodies, because each is superimposed on the other and acts as a covering and can be cast off. Thus the physical body itself is called the food sheath and its throwing off is what is called death.

How is it that we have met?
We have all met in previous lives. Otherwise we would not have come together in this life. We are of one family and have worked through ages for the victory of the Divine and its manifestation upon earth.
It was for the first time I got up to the first floor of Sri Aurobindo’s house. In the long verandah overlooking the wide courtyard below, there were big windows giving a wide view southwards... all the doors of all the rooms were open... Everywhere and on everything there fell an all-revealing light, nothing but light...
The domain of Greater Life whose centre lies in our heart, allows a window glimpse of Truth. It lets us see Reality through a veil. A first hint of divinity and the distant call of the Divine is felt here as one enters this plane.
This session touches upon the secret Supermind whose Glory and mystery is being revealed by Savitri to death and through Savitri to us mortals.
This session is an introductory session to Book 10 as we reach up to the page where we left during last February session. It is about the labour of Love going on in the depths of creation.

We might say that equality is the very sign of liberation. To be free from the domination of the urge of vital desire and the stormy mastery of the soul by the passions is to have a calm and equal heart and a life-principle governed by the large and even view of a universal spirit.
