Entry of Thoughts from All Around, p. 544

Opening Remarks
Savitri now looks deeper to see the entry points of thought from the world around.

Spiritual immensity
Then looking to know whence the intruders came
She saw a spiritual immensity
Pervading and encompassing the world-space
As ether our transparent tangible air,
And through it sailing tranquilly a thought.

As Savitri directed her consciousness to see where these thoughts are coming from, she saw a vast all-pervading spiritual immensity as encompassing the world-space. This world space is formed of ether, the subtle state of matter out of which the principle of tangible air emerges. The thoughts came sailing tranquilly through it.

Silent city of the brain
As smoothly glides a ship nearing its port,
Ignorant of embargo and blockade,
Confident of entrance and the visa’s seal,
It came to the silent city of the brain
Towards its accustomed and expectant quay,
But met a barring will, a blow of Force
And sank vanishing in the immensity.

As a ship glides smoothly nearing its port ignorant of embargo to its entry or a blockade, hence confident of permission to enter, it came to the silent instrumental brain. As it sailed towards its accustomed areas it met a will that denied entry, a blow of Force and sank vanishing into in the immensity.

Long vacant pause
After a long vacant pause another appeared
And others one by one suddenly emerged,
Mind’s unexpected visitors from the Unseen
Like far-off sails upon a lonely sea.

After a long vacant pause another thought appeared followed by yet another as unexpected visitors to the mind coming from some unseen domain like far off sails appearing upon a sea.

None reached
But soon that commerce failed, none reached mind’s coast.

But soon this coming and going of thoughts also ceased. None reached the mind anymore.

A silent spirit
Then all grew still, nothing moved any more:
Immobile, self-rapt, timeless, solitary
A silent spirit pervaded silent Space.

Then all grew silent and unmoving. Her consciousness grew immobile, self-absorbed within, timeless and solitary. All that was left was a silent spirit pervading silent Space.

Closing Remarks
Thus Savitri banishes all possibility of stir and movement within. She arrives at a complete stillness of the mind.
