Weekly Readings in Savitri

This material world is not a vanity or an illusion. It conceals within it a greater truth than what meets the surface eye.

Sri Aurobindo now reveals the contrast that one experiences when one looks at this world from the perfect supramental world.

Now Sri Aurobindo goes on to reveal the nature of supramental substance and the senses in that world of Truth and Harmony and Delight.

Having revealed to us the nature of Supramental Thought Sri Aurobindo now gives us a glimpse of what Supramental Life is in its own domain.

It is a perfect description of the Supramental world where the finite meets the infinite and relative and partial and limited discovers its truth and divine origin.

The Supramental truth-Consciousness has the key to the synthesis of the One and the Many, of God and World. It links creation to the original Bliss that has built the worlds.

The Bliss of oneness multiplied in myriad ways there to become the bliss of multiplicity.

It was a realm of Truth where Oneness expressed itself in thousand ways and each was in perfect harmony and delight with the whole.

It is a land of supreme harmony with endless possibilities, a play of infinite beings and forces each conscious of the whole and rooted in oneness.

After moments of long and pregnant silence, Aswapati is drawn deeper into the heart of the Transcendent where he gets a glimpse of a New and marvellous creation.

Aswapati now awaits the Transcendent’s decree. He has already reached the doors from where none returns. He already had a glimpse of the Divine Mother.

Aswapati now sets his sail towards the mysterious realms of the Infinite. He launches himself into an infinite adventure.

Aswapati is now absorbed in the Infinite. He is now turned towards the Transcendent Source of all things.

Aswapati is now prepared for entering the infinite Truth of the Transcendent Supramental realm. He must leave behind all that belongs to the world of forms, all that is ever-changing and transient.

All of Aswapati’s being is now completely under the Divine Influence. His nature stands transformed and fulfilled even as his soul.

Aswapati must take now the last bare step before he can enter the kingdom of the Spirit. He must make the last grand sacrifice.

Since creation emerges from the Inconscience where it had plunged, there is the pull that the Inconscience exerts on the ascending soul. The tackling of these subconscious elements is important at some stage in the yoga.
