At the Feet of The Mother

Alok Pandey

The Vedic seers saw the Truth as a Vast, luminous consciousness, a limitless Existence beyond dualities of the mind and the ego. This is the next ascension that Aswapati undergoes, and the first step towards the building of a deeper, higher and truer life within us.
"This is Savitri, the Light of the Supreme, the incarnation of the Divine Mother who enters the prison house of matter, veiling Her Light and Glory and Powers. She comes near us to breathe hope and give strength. Her very Presence is enough to disarm the sentries. Her smile is enough to fill us with renewed energy and enthusiasm."
Yet if one were to ask what is the most fundamental word of yoga that Sri Aurobindo reveals to us, the answer would be very much to simply open to the Mother. With the Mother it is not words and intellect that comes into play but love and surrender. With Her it is as if the Divine Presence we seek within had stepped out in the forefront shedding Its mask of secrecy.
Beyond there is a whole world awaiting our discovery, a world that expresses itself as a state of Consciousness. It is here that Man begins to fulfill his real role to go beyond his humanity and, transcending the barriers of the mind, enter the domains of a higher spiritual truth. But this is no easy task. Nature keeps us tied within its boundaries.
A talk by Dr Alok Pandey (AUDIO IN HINDI)
Narad reveals how pain chisels out greatness and why is suffering allowed to those who are among the good and the great, whose very life is to serve a higher purpose and who live selflessly. This is a question that vexes all who look upon pain and suffering as some sort of judgment by God for our errors and sins.

Before the 24th April Darshan it may be helpful to get into the mood and atmosphere of the early days of Sri Aurobindo’s arrival and the earthly lila of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Often this is the simplest way to open one’s heart to Their Love and Compassion and Grace.
The very first stages of transformation, the transformation of the Mind of Ignorance into a Mind of Light, are now being described in the passages that follow. This initial step leads us to a freedom from Ignorance, as the ignorant human mind gets transformed into the mind of a seer.
Human life as we experience now, in our ignorance, is not the final intended act of Nature. It is a stage, a transition, a rather long preparation, often through much struggle and suffering, for divinity, for the divine unfolding in and through man as an intermediary link.
