A New Will, a hope immense now seizes Aswapati. He must go further and discover the far end of an inevitable future that awaits man in the far spaces of time. He is born to discover the superman waiting to emerge from within man.
Human journey is through two distinct stages. In the first stage it is nature that covers the soul. Through all the various experiences the soul grows in strength until it becomes the master of nature.
Aswapati, the seer-yogi has broken free from the magic fence of Ignorance. He is now a witness and privy to some profound truths that are hidden from our mind and senses.
Release from Ignorance is the first radical step of yoga. Here we see Aswapati soaring beyond the ignorant mental consciousness that surrounds man and keeps him a prisoner.
Savitri is a mantra that reveals itself as the recipient consciousness becomes quiet and open to its influence. Savitri is, as the Mother reveals, a mantra of transformation.
Spiritual thought has leaned towards the immobile witness Self and hence has discarded nature. On the other hand secular efforts have tended to discover the secrets of nature and make life perfect with these discoveries. Sri Aurobindo synthesizes the two in a harmonious oneness.
Ordinarily Self-realisation is considered as the highest goal. It brings mukti, freedom from Ignorance. But for Sri Aurobindo this is only a starting point for going still beyond.
