The Oneness in Nature, pp. 355-356

Opening Remarks
Though outwardly everything is distinct in creation through endless differentiation, yet the core is always there of oneness. All the movements of Nature are interconnected through a secret oneness that dwells in her core.

The first fair life
The first fair life that breaks from Nature’s swoon,
Mounts in a line of rapture to the skies;
Absorbed in its own happy urge it lives,
Sufficient to itself, yet turned to all:
It has no seen communion with its world,
No open converse with surrounding things.

When life breaks free from the earth it starts its journey towards the sun as if oblivious of all else. Absorbed and happy in the rapture of its journey it is turned towards all things. Yet there is a secret bond between it and all nature that is not visible or tangible. Each seemingly separate and distinct unit of life communes with the whole world.

Oneness native and occult
There is a oneness native and occult
That needs no instruments and erects no form;
In unison it grows with all that is.

On the surfaces there is difference and differentiation but in the depths there is always the oneness behind all things. This oneness needs no instruments to connect and no outer form to communicate. It is native and occult.

All contacts it assumes
All contacts it assumes into its trance,
Laugh-tossed consents to the wind’s kiss and takes
Transmutingly the shocks of sun and breeze:
A blissful yearning riots in its leaves,
A magic passion trembles in its blooms,
Its boughs aspire in hushed felicity.

This Oneness is inbuilt in nature as it breaks out into life. It assumes all the different forms but is not bound by them. It receives the touches of the world with laughter and undergoes transmutation to the touches of the winds and the sun. There is within its leave the riot of variations and variety yearning blissfully, a magic passion trembling in its flowers, a joyous aspiration for the Light expressed in its boughs.

Occult godhead
An occult godhead of this beauty is cause,
The spirit and intimate guest of all this charm,
This sweetness’s priestess and this reverie’s muse.

It is the godhead of beauty who is hidden in material nature and who tries to express itself through charm of nature. It is the godhead of Beauty who is the spirit and intimate guest. It s he who calls down this sweetness and puts all material nature in state of reverie.

Protected from our sense
Invisibly protected from our sense
The Dryad lives drenched in a deeper ray
And feels another air of storms and calms
And quivers inwardly with mystic rain.

We do not sense this spirit of Beauty that is there in all forms in material nature. Yet though invisible to our eyes this spirit, Dryad dwells open to the Light. It feels all touches and contacts in a different way and inwardly quivers with the rain of Grace pouring upon all things.

Heavenlier height
This at a heavenlier height was shown in her.

This oneness was evident on the peaks of nature.

Closing Remarks
Savitri too is born with that spontaneous core of the oneness of love. It is through and in this state of oneness that She communed with the world even though nothing was visible on the surfaces.

The stones began falling in several directions at the same time, in places where there were neither doors nor windows.
