The Avatar is not a sage or saint who rise above the Law. Rather he enters under the harrow and bears the yoke of time laid upon human beings so that he can show the way and change the old law. So is it with Savitri. She is a portion of the Divine Mother who has consciously chosen to descend upon earth and become human. This Canto is a vivid description of the Divine becoming human and thereby full identifying with human grief and pain.
