Sri Aurobindo now brings out once again the beauty and nobility of Savitri, the force of her character and her ability to naturally renounce the comfortable and royal life for the sake of following her soul’s choice, for the sake of her love.
Fate is a challenge that our soul has accepted to bring out its hidden powers. As long as the full soul power is not yet developed we remain subject to Fate. But once the soul has awakened and discovered its hidden glories, then Fate can be mastered.
“As to the question of pursuing the Path without an embodied Guru – well, we may not be able to see Her, but She is able to see us, and yoga depends primarily on the Divine rather than on human end... " (CN03)
A thought was there that planned, a will that strove,
But for small aims within a narrow scope,
Wasting unmeasured toil on transient things.
It knew itself a creature of the mud;
It asked no larger law, no loftier aim;
It had no inward look, no upward gaze.
