At the Feet of The Mother

The World of Souls 1, pp. 291-292

Opening Remarks
This is the psychic world where our souls find rest and peace when we rest at night and after death.

Welling core of finite life
Here was the welling core of finite life;
A formless spirit became the soul of form.

It is the core of all finite life as it is here that the formless Spirit enters into different forms as its soul.

Soul-stuff
All there was soul or made of sheer soul-stuff;
A sky of soul covered a deep soul-ground.

It is the psychic world where everything including the ground of being and the sky above were all built by the divine substance of which the soul is made.

Spiritual sense
All here was known by a spiritual sense:
Thought was not there but a knowledge near and one
Seized on all things by a moved identity,
A sympathy of self with other selves,
The touch of consciousness on consciousness
And being’s look on being with inmost gaze
And heart laid bare to heart without walls of speech
And the unanimity of seeing minds
In myriad forms luminous with the one God.

The gross and subtle senses that we use here or in the subtle worlds were replaced by spiritual senses that readily respond to divine things. The means of knowing was through a direct identity rather than through any kind of analysis or inference as we use here. Communication amongst beings of this world was direct through sympathy and the contact of consciousness without need of any instrument. No barrier of speech was needed as each one understood the other perfectly with mind working in unison with other minds and hearts feeling for heart. All this mutual unity was felt in a state of oneness with God.

A mystic movement
Life was not there, but an impassioned force,
Finer than fineness, deeper than the deeps,
Felt as a subtle and spiritual power,
A quivering out from soul to answering soul,
A mystic movement, a close influence,
A free and happy and intense approach
Of being to being with no screen or check,
Without which life and love could never have been.

The soul lives not by the breath but by the force and energy of the Lord. This divine power permeating the soul was felt as the finest and deepest power that welled out from one soul to another reaching out from once own depth to another’s depth. There is in that life an intensity of closeness as we can hardly find here, a mystic movement of one being to another in freedom and joy. This was true love and true life that one experienced there.

Body was needed not
Body was not there, for bodies were needed not,
The soul itself was its own deathless form
And met at once the touch of other souls
Close, blissful, concrete, wonderfully true.

The deathless soul was there without a body which was no more needed. The soul personality was there responding to the touch of other souls in a close, concrete, blissful and wonderful way than one can ever imagine here.

Closing Remarks
This is the beautiful psychic state, something of which can be experienced even here by those who are awakened in their soul. It is a glimpse of what life could become if we realise our soul and live in it and by it.
