Satyavan and Savitri have met and woven a secret affinity in their gaze. Love has already been born in their hearts. Yet now the mind steps in to complete the engagement of two souls that have suddenly discovered themselves along the paths of time. They, especially Satyavan, now share with each other their longings and dreams, their past and the future as he sees together. Drawn to each other still further they marry with the sun and the winds as the witness of the magic moment. This wedding between them is described by Sri Aurobindo as symbolic repetition of the wedding between the Eternal Lord and His Spouse. With this marriage their destiny is sealed and Savitri returns back to her palace with the promise of returning soon.
