Saraswati is the goddess of inspiration hence the power of the creative Word with which Brahma creates the system of worlds. Her Veena sets into motion the rhythms of truth that determine the secret law of each thing according to the Divine Plan and a graded hierarchy in accordance to the Law of Truth.
The Saraswati Veena has four main strings and three auxiliary ones signifying the four main worlds of the higher hemisphere and the three lower or lesser worlds in which we presently dwell. As the goddess of Perfection she tunes and retunes the strings of our nature until all is in Concord with the eternal Harmonist. It is a long painstaking process which involves a thorough working upon each and every detail of our complex nature right down to the most material detail.
Those who are blessed with her find the doors of inner inspiration (truth audition) open in every sphere of life. Hence she is also regarded as the goddess of learning. To her chosen ones she endows the divine qualities of kindness, patience, perseverance, spontaneous discernment, right attitude in works, and the smile that comes from a complete trust in the Divine Mother as friend and guide. She takes care of her children in the minutest detail and never gives up despite a thousand defects.
She is the youngest of the four aspects of the Mother and the one whose work is a long and tireless labour. She is the presiding goddess of the last of the four Ages of mankind who prepares the world for the new cycle of Creation, Satya Yuga, the Age of Truth.
