It is true that the more one grows spiritually the rarer it becomes possible to find a partner who can truly walk together. The only important thing that one has to do is to stay focused primarily on one’s spiritual progress leaving the rest to Time, Destiny and God.
There are few options here with regard to the partner who does not share the deeper aspiration. The most common is to have the relation of duty, a sattwic companionship as long as he does not obstruct or interfere with the spiritual aspiration. As to the part that does not connect, one can stay alone in that, turning it more and more to the Divine, paradoxically facilitated by the partner’s indifference to this aspect.
If this inner core grows stronger then automatically an inner parting may begin wherein the two start living more or less independent of each other, even though in the same house with few common contact points as is inevitable.
Finally if and when all the duties are over, and there is enough detachment and equanimity one may decide to spend more and more time in a space that can facilitate the aspiration. Rest is up to destiny to unfold in its own way.
