Chinmayee Maheshwari
Chinmayee Maheshwari, daughter of Dr. H Maheshwari and Sarala Maheshwari, was born on 12th of August 1946, in Varansi (U.P.),—the city of Lord Shiva and Ganga , the ancient seat of learning and devotion .
Chinmayee from her childhood was known for her deep love for music, and she was blessed with an exceptional purity of the soul, which reflected in her personality and also her musical voice. Beauty and Perfection were her soul qualities. Sanskrit, Music and Indian culture formed her personality.
She learnt north Indian classical music as one of her cherished subjects from her childhood. In 1966 she did her Masters in Sanskrit and in 1969 she finished her Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
In 1970 she joined the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and since then served wholeheartedly for the Mother’s vision and mission of making Sanskrit as a living language. She taught Sanskrit in the Ashram school and worked with all her creative talent to prepare the new material for children.
She was a very loving teacher of Sanskrit and Music for four decades in the Ashram.
In January 2010 she left for her Eternal abode in the Supreme Mother.
