A heart of silence in the hands of joy Inhabited with rich creative beats A body like a parable of dawn That seemed a niche for veiled divinity Or golden temple-door to things beyond.

A magic leverage suddenly is caught That moves the veiled Ineffable's timeless will: A prayer, a master act, a king idea Can link man's strength to a transcendent Force.

As so he grew into his larger self, Humanity framed his movements less and less; A greater being saw a greater world.

The Supreme's gaze looked out through human eyes And saw all things and creatures as itself And knew all thought and word as its own voice.

Apart he lived in his mind's solitude, A demigod shaping the lives of men: One soul's ambition lifted up the race; A Power worked, but none knew whence it came.

In moments when the inner lamps are lit And the life's cherished guests are left outside, Our spirit sits alone and speaks to its gulfs.

What most she needs, what most exceeds her scope, A Mind unvisited by illusion's gleams, A Will expressive of soul's deity, A Strength not forced to stumble by its speed, Joy that drags not sorrow as its shade.
