10.156.1
अ॒ग्निं हि॑न्वंतु नो॒ धियः॒ सप्ति॑मा॒शुमि॑वा॒जिषु॑ ।
तेन॑ जेष्म॒ धनं॑धनं ॥
agním hinvantu naḥ dhíyaḥ sáptim āśúm-iva ājíṣu ǀ
téna jeṣma dhánam-dhanam ǁ
May our thoughts speed the Fire on his way like a swift galloper in the battles, by him may we conquer every kind of wealth.
10.156.2
यया॒ गा आ॒करा॑महे॒ सेन॑याग्ने॒ तवो॒त्या ।
तां नो॑ हिन्व म॒घत्त॑ये ॥
yáyā gā́ḥ ā-kárāmahe sénayā agne táva ūtyā́ ǀ
tā́m naḥ hinva magháttaye ǁ
The army by which we may make ours the Ray-Cows under thy guard, that army send to us1 for the getting of plenty.
10.156.3
आग्ने॑ स्थू॒रं र॒यिं भ॑र पृ॒थुं गोमं॑तम॒श्विनं॑ ।
अं॒ग्धि खं व॒र्तया॑ प॒णिं ॥
ā́ agne sthūrám rayím bhara pṛthúm gó-mantam aśvínam ǀ
aṅgdhí khám vartáya paṇím ǁ
Bring to us, O Fire, a stable wealth of the Ray-Cows and the horses of power, reveal heaven, turn away from us the evil Trafficker.
10.156.4
अग्ने॒ नक्ष॑त्रम॒जर॒मा सूर्यं॑ रोहयो दि॒वि ।
दध॒ज्ज्योति॒र्जने॑भ्यः ॥
ágne nákṣatram ajáram ā́ sū́ryam rohayaḥ diví ǀ
dádhat jyótiḥ jánebhyaḥ ǁ
O Fire, make to ascend the ageless traveller-star, the sun in heaven upholding the Light for me.
10.156.5
अग्ने॑ के॒तुर्वि॒शाम॑सि॒ प्रेष्ठः॒ श्रेष्ठ॑ उपस्थ॒सत् ।
बोधा॑ स्तो॒त्रे वयो॒ दध॑त् ॥
ágne ketúḥ viśā́m asi préṣṭhaḥ śréṣṭhaḥ upastha-sát ǀ
bódha stotré váyaḥ dádhat ǁ
O Fire, thou art the ray of intuition in creatures, most dear, most glorious, seated in the centre2. Awake, founding his expansion who lauds thee.
