Sukta 13

5.13.1

अर्चं॑तस्त्वा हवाम॒हेऽर्चं॑तः॒ समि॑धीमहि ।

अग्ने॒ अर्चं॑त ऊ॒तये॑ ॥

árcantaḥ tvā havāmahe árcantaḥ sám idhīmahi ǀ

ágne árcantaḥ ūtáye ǁ

Singing the word of illumination we call to thee, singing the word of illumination we kindle, singing the word of illumination, O Fire, that thou mayst be our guard.

5.13.2

अ॒ग्नेः स्तोमं॑ मनामहे सि॒ध्रम॒द्य दि॑वि॒स्पृशः॑ ।

दे॒वस्य॑ द्रविण॒स्यवः॑ ॥

agnéḥ stómam manāmahe sidhrám adyá divi-spṛ́śaḥ ǀ

devásya draviṇasyávaḥ ǁ

Seekers of the riches we meditate today the all-achieving laud of the divine, heaven-touching Fire.

5.13.3

अ॒ग्निर्जु॑षत नो॒ गिरो॒ होता॒ यो मानु॑षे॒ष्वा ।

स य॑क्ष॒द्दैव्यं॒ जनं॑ ॥

agníḥ juṣata naḥ gíraḥ hótā yáḥ mā́nuṣeṣu ā́ ǀ

sáḥ yakṣat dáivyam jánam ǁ

May Fire accept our words, he who is the priest of the call in men; may he sacrifice to the divine kind.

5.13.4

त्वम॑ग्ने स॒प्रथा॑ असि॒ जुष्टो॒ होता॒ वरे॑ण्यः ।

त्वया॑ य॒ज्ञं वि त॑न्वते ॥

tvám agne sa-práthāḥ asi júṣṭaḥ hótā váreṇyaḥ ǀ

tváyā yajñám ví tanvate ǁ

Great is thy wideness, O Fire, our priest of the call, beloved and supremely desirable; by thee men carry out the sacrifice.

5.13.5

त्वाम॑ग्ने वाज॒सात॑मं॒ विप्रा॑ वर्धंति॒ सुष्टु॑तं ।

स नो॑ रास्व सु॒वीर्यं॑ ॥

tvā́m agne vāja-sā́tamam víprāḥ vardhanti sú-stutam ǀ

sáḥ naḥ rāsva su-vī́ryam ǁ

Thee high-lauded, O Fire, the strong conqueror of the plenitudes, the illumined wise increase; so do thou give us the gift of a complete hero-might.

5.13.6

अग्ने॑ ने॒मिर॒राँ इ॑व दे॒वांस्त्वं प॑रि॒भूर॑सि ।

आ राध॑श्चि॒त्रमृं॑जसे ॥

ágne nemíḥ arā́n-iva devā́n tvám pari-bhū́ḥ asi ǀ

ā́ rā́dhaḥ citrám ṛñjase ǁ

As the rim of a wheel the spokes, so dost thou encompass the gods; thou shalt arrange for us our rich achievement.
