The World-Redeemer, p. 448

Opening remarks
The world-redeemer is burdened with the task of making man’s path easier and smoother by taking away the thorns laid on the way by the forces that oppose. He is here to redeem and give the radical remedy rather than palliatives.

The cross in payment for the crown
“Hard is the world-redeemer’s heavy task;
The world itself becomes his adversary,
Those he would save are his antagonists:
This world is in love with its own ignorance,
Its darkness turns away from the saviour light,
It gives the cross in payment for the crown.

The work for which the world-redeemer comes is a difficult one. The world he comes to save becomes his adversary. Those he would save are the ones who oppose him. The world is not ready to be saved as it is in love with its ignorance and turns away from the saviour light. It returns the cross in payment for the crown that the world-redeemer comes to give to humanity.

Trickle of splendour
His work is a trickle of splendour in a long night;
He sees the long march of Time, the little won;
A few are saved, the rest strive on and fail:
A Sun has passed, on earth Night’s shadow falls.

His work is a trickle of splendour in a long night of ignorance. He sees the long march of Time and the little that is won by way of the few who are saved while the rest strive and fall. He passes away as a sun leaving the shadow of Night upon earth.

Happy ways near to God’s sun
Yes, there are happy ways near to God’s sun;
But few are they who tread the sunlit path;
Only the pure in soul can walk in light.

Though there are happy ways to near the Light of Truth and God but only few are ready to tread it. A great degree of purity is needed to walk in the light.

An exit is shown
An exit is shown, a road of hard escape
From the sorrow and the darkness and the chain;
But how shall a few escaped release the world?

Though a door is opened for a few to escape from the sorrow and darkness of the world but how shall a few escaped release the world.

Human mass lingers
The human mass lingers beneath the yoke.

The human mass lingers beneath the yoke of ignorance and darkness.

Escape cannot redeem
Escape, however high, redeems not life,
Life that is left behind on a fallen earth.

Escape, however high does not redeem life that is left in its fallen state upon earth.

Escape cannot uplift
Escape cannot uplift the abandoned race
Or bring to it victory and the reign of God.

Escape cannot uplift the abandoned race or bring to it victory and the crown of God.

A greater power must come
A greater power must come, a larger light.

The solution lies in bringing a greater power, a larger light to earth.

Closing Remarks
Redeemers come but man is not ready. At best they open a door of escape for a few.

Between the age of eighteen and twenty I had attained a conscious and constant union with the divine Presence and that I had done it all alone.
