Arjava (J. A. Chadwick) [7]

Twilight Hush

A forest | of shadows | gliding fast,

Magnetwise, | as drawn on | by the sun

For wester|ly converging | sunset-goal —

Zenith past, | how eeri|ly they run!

On paths that | meander | ’cross the sky,

Cloudy-maned | the centaurs | bend afar

Moon-bow that | is aiming, | silver-taut,

Arrows made | of silence | at a star.

This seems to me successful. The last stanza especially is very beautiful in idea and expression and rhythm.
