Sukta 13

7.13.1

प्राग्नये॑ विश्व॒शुचे॑ धियं॒धे॑ऽसुर॒घ्ने मन्म॑ धी॒तिं भ॑रध्वं ।

भरे॑ ह॒विर्न ब॒र्हिषि॑ प्रीणा॒नो वै॑श्वान॒राय॒ यत॑ये मती॒नां ॥

prá agnáye viśva-śúce dhiyam-dhé asura-ghné mánma dhītím bharadhvam ǀ

bháre havíḥ ná barhíṣi prīṇānáḥ vaiśvānarā́ya yátaye matīnā́m ǁ

To Fire all-illumining, founder of the thought, slayer of the Asuras, bring your thinking and the thought formed; glad I bring to our sacrificial seat the offering for the universal godhead who has mastery over minds.

7.13.2

त्वम॑ग्ने शो॒चिषा॒ शोशु॑चान॒ आ रोद॑सी अपृणा॒ जाय॑मानः ।

त्वं दे॒वाँ अ॒भिश॑स्तेरमुंचो॒ वैश्वा॑नर जातवेदो महि॒त्वा ॥

tvám agne śocíṣā śóśucānaḥ ā́ ródasī␣íti apṛṇāḥ jā́yamānaḥ ǀ

tvám devā́n abhí-śasteḥ amuñcaḥ váiśvānara jāta-vedaḥ mahi-tvā́ ǁ

Thou, O Fire, illumining with thy light fillest earth and heaven even in thy birth: thou hast released the gods from the Assailant by thy might, thou the universal godhead, the knower of all things born.

7.13.3

जा॒तो यद॑ग्ने॒ भुव॑ना॒ व्यख्यः॑ प॒शून्न गो॒पा इर्यः॒ परि॑ज्मा ।

वैश्वा॑नर॒ ब्रह्म॑णे विंद गा॒तुं यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥

jātáḥ yát agne bhúvanā ví ákhyaḥ paśū́n ná gopā́ḥ íryaḥ pári-jmā ǀ

váiśvānara bráhmaṇe vinda gātúm yūyám pāta svastí-bhiḥ sádā naḥ ǁ

When born, O Fire, thou lookest on the world as a herdsman on his cattle, one to be missioned, pervading everywhere, as the universal godhead thou foundest the Path for the Lord. Do you always guard us with all kinds of weal.
