Sukta 21

5.21.1

म॒नु॒ष्वत्त्वा॒ नि धी॑महि मनु॒ष्वत्समि॑धीमहि ।

अग्ने॑ मनु॒ष्वदं॑गिरो दे॒वांदे॑वय॒ते य॑ज ॥

manuṣvát tvā ní dhīmahi manuṣvát sám idhīmahi ǀ

ágne manuṣvát aṅgiraḥ devā́n deva-yaté yaja ǁ

As the human we set thee within us, as the human we kindle thee; O Fire, O Angiras, as the human offer sacrifice to the gods for the seeker of the godheads.

5.21.2

त्वं हि मानु॑षे॒ जनेऽग्ने॒ सुप्री॑त इ॒ध्यसे॑ ।

स्रुच॑स्त्वा यंत्यानु॒षक्सुजा॑त॒ सर्पि॑रासुते ॥

tvám hí mā́nuṣe jáne ágne sú-prītaḥ idhyáse ǀ

srúcaḥ tvā yanti ānuṣák sú-jāta sárpiḥ-āsute ǁ

O Fire, thou art kindled in the human being and well-satisfied; unceasing ladles go to thee, O perfect in thy birth, O thou who receivest as oblation the stream of his clarities!

5.21.3

त्वां विश्वे॑ स॒जोष॑सो दे॒वासो॑ दू॒तम॑क्रत ।

स॒प॒र्यंत॑स्त्वा कवे य॒ज्ञेषु॑ दे॒वमी॑ळते ॥

tvā́m víśve sa-jóṣasaḥ devā́saḥ dūtám akrata ǀ

saparyántaḥ tvā kave yajñéṣu devám īḷate ǁ

Thee all the gods with one mind of acceptance made their envoy; men serving thee pray thee as the godhead in their sacrifices, O seer.

5.21.4

दे॒वं वो॑ देवय॒ज्यया॒ग्निमी॑ळीत॒ मर्त्यः॑ ।

समि॑द्धः शुक्र दीदिह्यृ॒तस्य॒ योनि॒मास॑दः स॒सस्य॒ योनि॒मास॑दः ॥

devám vaḥ deva-yajyáyā agním īḷīta mártyaḥ ǀ

sám-iddhaḥ śukra dīdihi ṛtásya yónim ā́ asadaḥ sasásya yónim ā́ asadaḥ ǁ

Let mortal man with will to the divine sacrifice to you, pray to the divine Fire; O brilliant Flame, high-kindled shine; mayst thou take thy seat in the native home of the Truth, take thy seat in the native home of the peace.
