Discoveries of Science I
Only by electric hordes your1 world is run?2
But they are motes3 and spark-whirls of a Light,
A Fire of which your4 nebula and your sun5
Are glints and flame-drops scattered eremite.
Veiled6 by the unseen7 Light act8 other Powers,
An Air of endless movement9 unbegun
Expanding and contracting in Time-hours10,
And the intangible ether of the One.
These surface findings – screen-phenomenon –11
Are Nature’s offered reasons12 but13 behind
Her occult mysteries lurk14 safe unknown
To15 the crude handling of the empiric Mind.
All yet16 discovered are but mire17 and trace
Of the eternal Energy in her race.
