She is divine not in the sense that she is afar and aloof, cold and indifferent like the transcendent Brahman. Indeed, the Divine Mother is more motherly than the human mother can be.

Though little in terms of its powers, this world has a strong hold upon matter and consequently upon all life that lives by the flesh. Therefore its empire, though a small little corner in boundless existence, casts its influence far and extends widely.
Mother, if Sri Aurobindo’s power of action is now greater and his passing was an incident leading to such larger action, is Your own passing not of a similar character and would Your action too be not more powerful now? It seems to be already evident that it is so.
What is characteristic of the higher mind?
It is a mind of thought and knowledge and spiritual perception but spontaneously seeing the truth.
