Opening Remarks for the Canto
Aswapati crosses the kingdoms of Greater Mind. Mighty though these realms are, packed with Knowledge and a growing intense light, yet the source of Light and the final truth is not found here. Hence Aswapati now climbs further to the summits of spiritual Mind. This is the Heavens of the Ideal where one finds the different aspects of the One, each king of his own empire governed by a single Idea-force. This is the Overmind station in its Saguna aspect represented by many qualities emerging from the One Supramental Godhead beyond. Each of these qualities or attributes of the Divine has its own empire over which he reigns supreme. From there each of these gods sends his secondary emanations that become his emissaries on the lesser planes creating a hierarchy of gods. We can call this Heaven of the Mind world as the true plane of the Gods. These are the Overmind Gods whose dazzle can make anyone believe that he has arrived at the highest Truth. Each God seems to be the absolute and highest I his own realm.
We also see that this plane can be reached either by climbing through the mind realms or by diving deep through the heart. It is either through the psychic door or through the higher reaches of the spiritual Mind that one can reach this plane of the Gods. If Aswapati chooses to stay here he too can be one with the Gods in their luminous company. But his search does not cease here. He seeks to go further where all the Gods who yet are distinct flames of Truth unite in a single Sun.
