Sri Ramakrishna’s coming marked the ultimate highest point to which the old world and traditional Yoga could rise, – the synthesis of religions, the synthesis of all the different paths and spiritual experiences that humanity had so far.
Sri Aurobindo’s coming marks going beyond this highest point thereby laying the foundation of the synthesis of Spirit and Matter, spiritual life and worldly life, the spiritual and the scientific, the east and west.
We can say that the confluence of Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Aurobindo in the period between 1850 and 1950 is the transition from the old world to the new world. But the door of this new possibility opens with the coming of the Mother as Sri Aurobindo himself confirmed. It is after their meeting that the possibility of a new Supramental world began to take shape.
