Sweet and infinite Mother, Mother Divine, Maa, the human mind under the influence of the vital gives a completely distorted value to things. Often the values are so much reversed that it stresses excessively upon the least important while completely ignoring the most important. It centers its life around the body while completely ignoring its soul. It gives importance to human opinions while seldom cares for the Divine view of things. Maa, this excessive focus upon oneself itself leads to so much avoidable suffering. If only we could learn to forget himself and focus on the great goal before him, the true work for which he is made, then life would blossom beautifully and much suffering will cease. The only thing left would be the imperfection of matter. But the vital spoils everything by distorting everything, diverting everything towards petty ignoble ends. Maa, let this scheme of things change, this tormented state in which humanity lives, out of its own choice, or perhaps because it cannot be otherwise!
Maa Maa Maa may mankind learn the joy of self-forgetfulness and the greater joy and peace that comes by remembering Thee. Instead of turning our mind towards personal comforts and petty satisfactions of the flesh, may our thoughts and feelings turn towards Thee. May our will be engaged only in executing Thy Will and our body’s only joy be in Thy nearness and love.
Maa, may we soar high above all these petty contingencies and cares and give ourselves entirely to Thee.
