Sweet and infinite Mother, Mother Divine, Maa, what infinite patience is Your heart that allows us, human beings, so much error and deviation, so much freedom that we often misuse, so much wandering and meandering before it can turn towards the Path of Ascension, towards Light and Truth and Bliss and Immortality. Why do you bear with us so much, O Mother, especially when men take this infinite Love for indifference and Your infinite Compassion for weakness? Yes, You do not want us to be robots and automatons moved blindly by Thy Will or crushed under the pressure of Thy Forces. You would rather want us to accept Your guidance and the Law of Truth willingly and happily so that we evolve consciously as dynamic collaborators rather than become a perfect machine for Thy purposes. For however perfect the machine may be, it is not conscious of itself or its purpose and despite all its wonderful capacities, it is not, in its self-consciousness, perhaps even a shade better or higher than the dust and sand below our feet. Man wants that You use Your omnipotence to set things right in a moment and if they don’t happen, he concludes that either God does not exist or else He is not omnipotent because He does not act according to our conception and ideas of the Divine! Nothing can be farther from the truth since if the Divine were to act according to our ideas and standards then He would be simply a greater version, an aggrandized humanity. While the Divine is labouring since aeons to mould us like Him, we are quick to make Him like us!
We have a role to play, Maa. Evolution of man requires a happy and conscious collaboration. If we want the world to change, we too must change. And the more we change, the more we help the world to become better in however small a way.
Yet there is Thy Divine Compulsion in things and when the play becomes too dramatic Thy intervention sets things right. But if man refuses to change, the same conditions return after some time and the old malady springs up again under new names and new garbs.
Mother Divine, spare us not this time. Let Thy Divine Compulsion push us through this time, across the wall of ignorance. May mankind wake up to its true mission and consciously collaborate. May there be no more sliding back of the civilisation towards the abyss of darkness. May the leap be taken, the leap towards the future for which all creation awaits.
