Mother Divine, Maa, to express a want, to demand, to desire is to shut oneself in a small cage, to slip into a hole, it is to open the doors to worry and anxiety, it is to sink into darkness and depression. If only for leading a happy and peaceful life, a true life in harmony within and the world around, one should at least rise above desire, if not eliminate it altogether which is the indispensable necessity for the true spiritual life. And what would one need to ask when one reposes complete trust in Thee? Are You not there to look after every inner and outer need? Indeed to ask, to desire, to demand is to lack faith in Thee. Thou wouldst give us whatever is truly needed and that which we don’t have or has been taken away from us is something that we do not or no more need or perhaps it is harmful for us. This faith is the basis of all else to come, it is the basis of a growing nearness and closeness with Thee, it is the basis of freedom and wideness and a supreme release from all suffering and ignorance born out of the illusion of a separate self.
Free us, O Mother, from all desires and wants and needs, the birthplace of all suffering and sin. May we grow in faith, a living trust and the confidence of a child who knows that his mother is there with him for everything.
