Mother Divine, may we recover the lost simplicity and spontaneity that comes from the direct perception of Truth. The human mind has complicated everything everywhere. It has defiled whatever it has touched, sometimes with an intention to correct it, often with the intention of exploiting it for one’s own selfish purposes. Even when it tries to understand something it ends up building complicated mazes and cobwebs of systems, theories, philosophies based on its limited and partial vision. In that haze and maze, truth is the first casualty. It is often buried, stifled or lost in the web of thought. And when it comes to understanding Thee, then it fails miserably.
Maa, how foolish to believe that one can know Thee and understand Thy Working. It is only when Thy Grace permits that an inner door opens and we can have a flash of glimpse of Thee. But to mistake this flash as the whole of Thee and build doctrines and religions and cults and sects around it is to limit Thee and even turn the glimpse of Truth into a falsehood.
Maa, give us humility, the true humility that knows we can know nothing except what Thy Grace reveals and only to the extent that Thou wouldst allow to be known.
Maa, we are nothing, we can know nothing and do nothing except what Thy Grace makes us, reveals to us and does through us.
Teach us, O sublime Glory, to be more and more humble and sincere and simple. Make us vast and supple so that we don’t imprison Thee in any theory, system or philosophy. We are nothing, Thou art everything.
