Mother Divine, Maa, attachments, be it with people, creatures, work or anything else does seem to come in the way of our complete self-giving. We begin to be affected, if not influenced by the suffering of those to whom we are attached. At times we even tend to concede to their requests if not demands and end up doing things for their happiness. Even when our action is selfless and there is no personal gain or satisfaction of any kind is expected, in fact even when it takes time and energy or gives pain we still try, as far as possible, to ensure their happiness. High and noble though it may seem and perhaps is, yet it comes in the way of our complete surrender. For surrender implies that we no longer act to please anyone but only in obedience to Thy Will whatever it may be. This human attachment is perhaps among the last bonds of illusion, a sattwic illusion that one must get rid of, not because it brings personal suffering, – for that would be still selfish, but because it comes in the way of a complete consecration to Thee. And yet Thou wouldst not want us to withdraw from life and people into the solitude of the forest to accomplish this inner surgery but to be amidst all and yet be free.
Maa, the only solution then seems to be a complete love and an integral attachment with Thee and then to love all with this love, with Thy Love, the way You love all creatures.
Maa, give us this love, this true love that is one with Thy Wisdom and in complete alignment with Thy Truth and Thy Will.
