Worldly knowledge erects for us a science of appearances. It is somewhat like studying the changes and the patterns on the outer and inner life and try to find the immediate or intermediate causes for events that meet and shape our life on the surfaces. The former leads to the study of physical phenomenon and find the physical causes behind outer events. The latter leads us one step deeper into the study of deeper and subtler forces at work as we see in the case of psychological and psychical sciences.
