These two questions, who am I and what is this world, seemed largely answered. But something was still left unanswered or rather incompletely answered. It was the question of questions. What is the relation, if any between the Divine and the World? There has never been a satisfactory answer to this question. Views have ranged from the world being Maya, an illusion and the ultimate Reality a supreme Witness or a Witness Intelligence. Even where it is understood that the Divine dwells in the world, He is largely as an all witnessing Eye even as the world rolls and unfolds on its own by the caprice of Maya and the law of karma, at most a balance of forces determined by the cosmic powers.
