Notes and Reflections (12 of 19)

But to live the teaching requires not only quest and aspiration but sincerity. Sincerity develops as the heart and the will get involved by the touch of the fire of aspiration. Mind can be satisfied by intellectual answers but life must experience by living this knowledge in everyday action. Even the highest teaching, the greatest wisdom remains sterile and ineffective unless it translates into our everyday action. The great mistake of the purely religious and intellectual approach is to confine the Divine, the Truth, the Wisdom into certain fixed formulas and rigid dogmas. Knowledge that comes to liberate us is itself chained into narrow segments of the human mind. Sri Aurobindo himself cautioned about this possibility.
