Sri Aurobindo is the Yogayogeshwara whose touch could turn all grief and weeping into joy, whose gaze could still the storm, and most of all, one who could plunge into the dense dark abyss to rescue the herds of Light. Sri is not an epithet or a honorific. It simply indicates that he brings the glory and resplendence of the Spirit to earth.
Not all can see or understand this. Blinded by the candle light of their mind, they see in Sri Aurobindo yet another fellow human, a thinker, philosopher, author, revolutionary, poet. All this is true but they miss the beauty of the Name, its rhythm and feel, its beauty and sweetness, above all its power to set is free from all bonds of illusion and ignorance. The name Sri Aurobindo is the full name and it has a mantric power in it, the power to heal, the power to open doors of the Soul, the power to uplift man’s soul nearer to God, the power to open a hundred doors of knowledge in us.
