Broadly speaking, when we speak of cause and effect we restrict ourselves to the immediate outer action and its consequences. This is the general human vision. But the Divine Consciousness includes in its vision the whole past and the future as well as the complex play of forces around us. He does not see us separate from Himself and hence takes full responsibility for all that happens in our lives. He is the ultimate cause and all that happens in our life ultimately leads us towards Him who is the final consequence of all that happens to us. The traditional karmic law ignores this most important truth.
