When we are ready for the spiritual life then the needed guidance comes from one place or the other. Yet it takes time to align the different parts of our being. The first awakening comes generally through the psychic door and there is a rush and glow of beautiful experiences like the first rains quickening the earth. But unless one wants to use this opening to withdraw away from the world, in which case one has to isolate oneself to the extent possible, this opening tends to be covered as one enters the fields of nature. There are parts of nature that are well aligned with the soul and help in this psychic blossoming. But there are others that resist and obstruct the path and the journey. Besides corresponding to these parts there are cosmic forces that help and hinder turning the journey that could be otherwise swift and smooth into a battlefield or else a slow punctuated process. This goes on until all the different parts get attuned and progressively aligned to the leading of the soul. The time taken depends upon the sum of resistances as well as helpful materials offered by nature, our unique constitution prepared by our past evolution and our eventual spiritual destiny. But once the awakening has taken place and our being is enamoured of the Divine in whatever small a measure, the destiny is sealed and more and more one begins to experience the direct intervention of the Divine in one’s life. Besides there is a recompense for every delay and obstacle for in the end it only helps shape the intended perfection in great detail.
Due to these reasons it is never advisable to push or pull anyone, be it our very near one’s in this life, to enter the path. If they are not ready we will unwittingly complicate their life with something that is beyond their present ability. And if they are ready then the Divine will create ways and means for the opening. What we can do until then is to meet those who are deeply connected with us with utmost goodwill, undemanding love freed from expectations and try to create around them a beautiful harmonious atmosphere which is conducive for the soul. Yes prayers do help and one must always pray for those whom we love as well as for all creatures since life is so deeply interconnected that the growth and progress of any single element or person in some measure depends also upon the growth and progress of the collective life upon earth.
Affectionately
