The experience of the psychic being is unmistakable and brings changes that the ego cannot fabricate. The ego, for instance, cannot open the doors to an inner knowledge flowing through the heart which can be objectively verified. It cannot create abiding peace, joy and bhakti that wants to give itself to God. The ego cannot give us faith under all circumstances nor shift the needle of false identification with the coats of our personality to being a child new born to the Mother. The ego cannot free us from our attachment to circumstances of birth nor refine our being to become sensitive to the Divine touch.
No the psychic realisation does not free us completely from the lower nature or the ego self but it does weaken and soften it enough so as to be it’s master and not a slave. It changes gross elements of nature into refined state of beauty and truth leading to a dropping off of the crude movements.
