At the Feet of The Mother

Do Gods have a Psychic being?

The psychic being develops through an evolutionary process. It is like a foot soldier rising through the ranks to level of a General. Having therefore, a close experience of earthly life and the highest seat of the Divine as well as the journey through the different worlds that press upon earth, the psychic being is best suited to become a bridge between the Creator and the Creation. In the course of its long evolutionary journey, it is therefore natural that the soul in us will at some point pass through the hierarchy of the gods, come under their influence and need their help. However at a certain stage of development, a fully mature psychic being will become even an active helper and collaborator of the gods, fight from their side, inspired by their breath, the devasura sangram as we see in the life of King Pururavas, Muchukund, Dasharath and others, for example in our modern times as Chhatrapati Shiva ji, Swami Vivekanand and other Vibhutis of the gods. Then in the last and final stage it will go beyond the gods as it begins to join with the Creator Himself as we see in the life of Rishi Agastya, Rishi Mandavya, Devi Arundhati, Saint Kabir, Sri Ramakrishna and others. It is only at this stage when the psychic being has developed fully that it is called upon to make the penultimate choice of either dissolving in the Creator or else return to earth to help humanity as a Master or a spiritual leader of men. Now of course there is a third option of the fully developed psychic being participating in the Yoga of transformation.

Gods, on the other hand are typal non-evolutionary beings. They are fixed in their station and power and function. Ganapati cannot go past Shiva but a Yogi can go through them one by one and to the Beyond.

Gods are not being done away nor can they ever be done away with as an extreme kind of Monism does. They and their due role and place is being acknowledged but as the Upanishads and the Gita says man has to rise not only beyond evil but also beyond good. He must first cultivate the daivic qualities and then go beyond surrendering himself entirely to the Divine and be His instrument for the good of the world and play his role in the evolutionary march of mankind.

This applies to the great goddesses including the cosmic dashmahavidyas.
