Opening Remarks

Book One. Canto V. The Yoga of the King: The Yoga of the Spirit’s Freedom and Greatness

Having arrived at Freedom from Ignorance by a progressive heightening, widening and deepening of the consciousness, the Seer-Yogi Aswapati now experiences a sudden turn in his yoga. He is admitted to the Unmanifest Splendours of the Spirit. This new discovery begins to mark a departure from traditional yogas that aim mainly for liberation. The process also is a new and different one, a descent of the Power of the Spirit, as the Divine Shakti takes charge of the yoga.
