Birth of a Seer pp 24-25

Opening remarks
The very first stages of transformation, the transformation of the Mind of Ignorance into a Mind of Light, are now being described in the passages that follow. This initial step leads us to a freedom from Ignorance.

Son of force
This now was witnessed in that son of Force;
In him that high transition laid its base.

Aswapati’s tapasya has led him to the point where he begins to witness the transition from a limited mental consciousness to a vaster and freer spiritual and supramental consciousness.

The cosmic Worker
Original and supernal Immanence
Of which all Nature’s process is the art,
The cosmic Worker set his secret hand
To turn this frail mud-engine to heaven-use.     (p 25 begins)

Aswapati’s body and mind, his human nature now becomes a conscious and willing instrument in the hands of the Divine. The Divine then takes up our mind and life and begins to mould them in a diviner image, – our body and mind becomes a conscious and willing servitor of the Divine.

A Statued god
A Presence wrought behind the ambiguous screen:
It beat his soil to bear a Titan’s weight,
Refining half-hewn blocks of natural strength
It built his soul into a statued god.

One of the first effects of the transformation is that we become aware of the Divine Presence in our depths, whose mighty Hand begins to reshape us releasing our godlike elements in nature. This is the conversion of the Asuric elements in our nature. Our nature is like the raw material that is taken up and refined and purified to become stronger and suppler for the Divine Work.

The Divine Craftsman
The Craftsman of the magic stuff of self
Who labours at his high and difficult plan
In the wide workshop of the wonderful world,
Modelled in inward Time his rhythmic parts.

This world is a workshop of the Divine where He tunes our nature to the rhythms of the Spirits.

The abrupt transcendent miracle
Then came the abrupt transcendent miracle:
The masked immaculate Grandeur could outline,
At travail in the occult womb of life,
His dreamed magnificence of things to be.

The greatest of all miracles is for the human in us to be shaped in the divine image. This is slowly being prepared in the inner being of man even as a chick is being prepared inside an egg. For a long time nothing much is visible on the surface and then suddenly the moment comes when the chick comes out of the egg. Even so the inner change precipitates itself in the outer being.

Marriage of Earth and Heaven
A crown of the architecture of the worlds,
A mystery of married Earth and Heaven
Annexed divinity to the mortal scheme.

Slowly the divine elements hidden within us awake and begin to exercise influence and control over our earth nature, which is right now under the spell of Darkness and Unconsciousness. This is the marriage of Earth and Heaven pictured in mystic stories and myths.

A shining Guest of Time
A Seer was born, a shining Guest of Time.

A seer is someone who can penetrate behind appearance and “see” the Truth hidden in the play of time. When our minds are transformed by the New Light, then it is able to see by an inner intuition and revelation what our mortal mind burdened with ignorance cannot see and know.

Mind’s limiting firmaments
For him mind’s limiting firmament ceased above.

The lid that separates the limited finite mind in Ignorance from the higher and vaster regions of Light and Truth is removed by the action of the Higher Consciousness.

Closing Remarks
Thus far we see how the ignorant human mind gets transformed into the mind of a seer. It changes its way of functioning and methods of knowledge since a deeper, intuitive and revelatory vision begins to grow in the individual.
